Lewis Bayly it appears was decended from the Baylys of Lamington in Scotland who were great landowners.Tradition is that the three eldest sons of Sir William Baillie had maimed a clergyman who had been taken into the house as a tutor,and due to his injury he died. The 3 sons felt obliged to fly. The eldest settled in Inverness. The Second settled in Ireland and from him springs the family of Innishargie and its derivative branch of Rindufferin. He had a son namely Captain John Bailie born 1623 died 1687. The third settled on the Isle of Anglesey. Wales and founded the family of which the Marquis of Anglesey is a descendant.
