Hi Warwick
Thank you for your reply to my message about my grandfather. I can't immediately see any connection as my gut feel is that my Beadles come from the south, Surrey, Suffolk, Kent and the like.
I looked on the familysearch website and saw that your grandparents married and your father and a brother were born in Waiongona in Taranaki. All my Beadles come from Dunedin and surrounding areas in Otago. Do you have any connection to these areas?
On the site there was also an entry in the 1881 census for a George Beadle born circa 1863,in Sheffield to Edward and Elizabeth Beadle. It gives details of the whole family. Have you seen that? Is it possible that the birth date you have should be earlier?
At the moment I am living in America but until recently lived in Hawera, Taranaki. Can't say I have heard of Waiongona. Perhaps it was a small settlement to the east of Stratford.
Anyway good luck with your searching and I will let you know if I come across any connection.
