Hi Stephanie Thanks for you reply. Yes I do know a fair bit about "my" Beadles in Dunedin as opposed to "yours"! My father always said the two families were unrelated but as he knew nothing about the rest of the family and didn't even know the names of his Beadle grandparents I am not taking that as gospel. However, I have yet to find a connection, but I like to think that two Beadle families coming to Dunedin from London is more that just coincidence; despite the age differences and the large number of years between the two families immigrating. Wishful thinking probably! The father of my James (the one who came out to Dunedin) was also called James and married a Frances Hoare in Twickenham in 1825. Frances was born in Dorking in 1796 and is present in the 1851,61 and 71 UK censuses but James sadly died before 1851 so I do not know his birth date or place of birth. But Twickenham and Dorking are nearer SW London than Stockton/Brixton is, so I am hopeful that one day I will find a connection to the Wimbledon Beadles. I am in contact with Tony Beadle in Australia who must be related to you in some way as he is also descended from Thomas and Emily. So do let me know if you ever find a connection and I will do the same. Kind regards, Kathryn Notify Administrator about this message?
