I am assuming that if he received his fifty acres for the Hall service in Jan 1667, that the five year indentiture was up about Dec. 1666. If you take away that five years, you end up with 1661 as the year he left Barbados. That would mean he spent at least ten years on the island, prior to his leaving with Richard Hall and the five other prisoners mentioned. If he "fled" to Barbados in 1551, right after the Battle of Dunbar, the timeline would fit, but if he "fled" there after the Battle of Maidstone in 1648, he would have been on the island for twelve years. I mention this only because I still have a question about the Governors on the Island: Bell, Chaddock, and Moore. I read that Barbados is in the process of posting the local buriel sites and am anxiously awaiting that process!
