I made a mistake in my 4/8/04 posting stating George Beals' father was Isaac.
I did a little more digging and found the George Beals in my family married but deserted his family. "Reappeared in 1920's - he phoned Oscar and Reba Johnson from Tuscon, AZ". I am still trying to find out who Oscar and Reba are. I think they are relatives of George's sister-in-law, Julia JOHNSON Beals who was born in Norway. This deserting may explain your phrase, "Something happened to George between 1900 and 1910 because I found Nancy and Vernice living with Allen S Tannahill."
George's siblings are listed as Hinman, Isaac John b 1852, Anna, and Grace.
There parents were Rebecca Anna Thayer d, 1890 and Chester Giddeon Beals b. abt 1822 in NE, d. 1903.
