Hi Colette,

My mother's paternal line is Bechaud. They emigrated to wisconsin from Belfort, Alsace, France in the 1840's. In my research I have found so many spellings of the names in primary sources (including Bechard)that I wonder if yours might not be the same family. Do you know where they emigrated from, and where they originally settled? Some of the names are Armand, Rudolph, Jean-Pierre, and Jean-Baptiste Bechaud.
