I have discovered a letter from Richard G. Belt dated 1856. I have no envelope but the first sentance reads "Your letter of the 26th March, my dear Tom was duly received...." The letter infers that he is a Homeopathic Physician and is heavy in religious sentiments. It is signed "Your ever affectionate Father, Richard G. Belt.
I know of a Richard Gordon Belt b.5/11/1784 - d.7/31/1865. I have sources that suggest he was infact a Homeopathic Doctor. But to my knowledge he didn't have a son Tom/Thomas.
He also mentions his son Tom Aunt "Hannah" that could be either his sister or his wife's sister.
Any thoughts about who Tom is?
