Holly, we are both looking for Benthalls in Union Co. My GGgrandmother was Rebecca Lyda Benthall. I've found two separate Benthalls in Union Co. KY and Posey Co. IN. They are adjoining counties separated by the Ohio River. The second census record below is probably your William. Hope it helps. I feel your William must be connected to my Rebecca but have not found the connection. Maybe the total of our information may exceed the two separate pieces.
