Trent, has anyone figured out yet where the Bentzels came from? I've speculated that the Bintzel/Bentzel spelling may represent a South German pronunciation of Buentzel (with an umlaut?), as I think I recall it being spelled on the ship's passenger roster.

p.s. I am descended from Johann Phillip Bentzel's son Balzer (1774-1853).
