Mounce Bird and wife Rachel Spears Fry

William Fry died ca 1796 in Fayette Co Ky, leaving a widow Rachel (dau of Henry Spears/Speers). She remarried to a man named Mounce Bird and both are alive in 1825 when they were parties to a deed in Nelson Co Ky in which the Spears heirs sold a parcel of land. Rachel Bird was presumably living in Shenandoah Co Va in 1802 when she gave consent for her daughter, Elizabeth Fry, to married George Heskell (various spellings). Most sources who knew that William Fry's widow had married a Mr. Bird and lived in Shenandoah Co Va assumed she was the same Rachel who was the wife of Abraham Bird, but the above mentioned Nelson Co Ky deed in 1825 seems to disprove that. Abraham Bird's wife was apparently named Rachel Ziegler according to most postings on that family. It does appear that Abraham Bird Jr (son of Abrham and Rachel Ziegler Bird) did marry Catherine Fry, daughter of Rachel Spears Fry Bird. All very puzzling. Was the above Mounce Bird the man who had been married to Hannah Pennybacker? Perhaps she died and he married 2nd to the widow Rachel Spears Fry? There is a Mounce Byrd in the 1820 census of Shenandoah Co Va--both he and his apparent wife "over 45" but with many others in the household.
