Hello Marilyn and Loyd,
I would like to add that pinpointing your ancestor and their correct family would be MUCH MORE DIFFICULT WITHOUT DNA testing for GENEALOGY PURPOSES, ONLY.
Loyd, you are correct. The larger the Bishop project database at Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), the more success stories the Bishop family will have to share. You are also correct, there are other testing companies and I have used one of the "free ones." My "nearly free" and unlocked results left a lot to be desired, but were somewhat helpful from this "free testing" company. In my opinion, the Bishop Project is with the correct company, FTDNA.
