James Ronald Bishop, 71, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN,
passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the Asbury
Place at Kingsport following a lengthy illness.
Born in Neon, KY, James had lived in Kingsport for most of
his life; he graduated in 1955 at Sullivan High School,
Kingsport. He was retired, following 40 years of service,
from AFG where he worked as a production planner. He was a
veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.
James was preceded in death by his son, Barry Bishop;
parents, John and Dorothy Wright Bishop; sister, Judith
Ann Boswell.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Thomas Bishop, Kingsport,
TN; daughter, Kimberly Pierce and husband Loren, Gray, TN;
very special granddaughter, Erika Pierce, Gray, TN;
brother, Tommy Bishop and wife Becky, Kingsport, TN;
several nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday,
October 20, 2008, at Morrison’s Chapel Church Cemetery
with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.
Mr. Bishop wishes were to be cremated.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to
the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite
102, Johnson City, TN, 37601.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Bishop
family.
