Please join both Bishop Kin and Friends on June 7, 2009,(1:30 P.M.)at Bishop Chapel Cemetery, Emanuel County, Georgia, for this ceremony honoring the sons of William and Sarah Bishop Coleman. This will be the first effort to recognize these men for their military service in the War Between the States. William and Sarah had six sons and all six served in the military.
This special occasion will afford a great opportunity for family members to become acquainted and share family history.
Sons were:
1.Alfred Bishop b.1825 d. sometime after 1870;wife- Mary Lennup
2.William C. Bishop b.1827;d.1901; wife-Susannah Hall
3.John Bishop b.1832;d.after 1881;wife-Mary Wallace
4.Allen Bishop b.1835;d.1862
5.Matthew Bishop b.1838;d.?;wife-Martha Pritchard
6.James Bishop b.1844;d.1892; wife-Catherine Ozena Barwick
