We are looking for information pertaining to Willis Franklin Bishop (1835-1873) who lived in Jefferson and Scott Counties in Indiana and Macoupin Co. IL. We also would appreciate any information you can provide about his wife Sarah A. Eads, and their children, grandchildren and other descendents. Willis F. Bishop was born circa 1835-36 in Jefferson Co. IN, the son of James M. Bishop and Mary Mason. He died 25 Mar. 1873 in Bunker Hill Macoupin Co. IL. Willis Bishop married Sarah A. Eads circa 1861-62. Does anyone have the exact marriage date and location? Sarah A. Eads (or Edds) was born circa 1841 in MO. She was the daughter of William Eads and Margaret Morin who were married in St. Louis in 1834. William and Margaret Eads had six children but only Sarah Eads grew up to have children of her own. Willis and Sarah Bishop had at least three children: Hattie, Maggie, and Delila. 1. Harriett (Hattie) M. Bishop was born Jun. 1863 in MO. She married George Wyman Cummings on 21 Nov. 1883 in Macoupin Co. IL. He was born Feb. 1860 in IL. They had at least four children: a. George Wyman Cummings was born 13 Aug. 1884 in IL. He was “feeble minded.” b. Willis Eads Cummings was born 1 Sep. 1888 in Mexico MO. He is married and living in Kansas City MO on 1 Jun. 1917. c. Robert Clyde Cummings was born 28 Jun. 1891 in Bunker Hill IL. He is married and living in Greeley CO on 5 Jun. 1917. d. Harriet J. Cummings was born circa 1901 in IL. 2. Margaret (Maggie) Bishop was born circa 1868 in IL. 3. Delila Carver Bishop was born circa Nov. 1869 in IL. She was married circa 1890 to Frank Robert Russell. In 1930, she is living with her son-in-law Fredrick F. Laver and her daughter Rae R. Laver in Hackensack NJ. 4. Willis E. Bishop was born 23 Nov. 1871 in Macoupin Co. IL. He died 8 Apr. 1872 in Macoupin Co. IL at the age of 4 months and15 days. After Willis F. Bishop died in 1873, his wife Sarah married (2nd) Charles Ellison Norcott on 29 Mar. 1875 in Macoupin Co. IL. Charles and Sarah Norcott had five children. Sarah died prior 14 Feb. 1916 in Chicago Cook Co. IL. She was buried 16 Feb. 1916 in Montrose Cemetery Chicago Cook Co. IL. Any additional information that you can provide about Willis Franklin Bishop (1835-1873), his wife Sarah A. Eads, and their ancestors and descendents would be greatly appreciated.
