Good to hear from you. I will try to explain this but you know it gets complicated!
I am Nina Richmond Ritchie, the daughter of Lucy Shaw Richmond and James C. Richmond.
Lucy is the daughter of William Newton Shaw and Frances Amanda Duncan Shaw.
William Newton Shaw was the son of Martha Jane Wood Shaw and James Emery Shaw.
Martha Jane Wood was the daughter of William M. Wood and Susan Amanda Biswell Wood.
Susan was the daughter of Richard Biswell and Sarah Parker Biswell.
Also, Nancy Wood married Thomas Jefferson Asbill. Nancy was William M. Wood's sister (therefore, my grandfather's aunt on the paternal side). William M. Wood's first wife ---Nancy E. Asbill--- was Thomas Jefferson Asbill's sister.
They were a small group of people who knew each other's families, traveled together from state to state, usually lived closed to each other, and inevitably intermarried. I could make this more complicated but think this is enough!
Visited the "Biswell Cemetery" and Dripping Springs Cemetery today. I have photos and would email if you wish.
