I would like to invite each person who is researching ancestors with the Blackwell surname to check out the Blackwell DNA Project at our web site at www.familytreedna.com/public/Blackwell. I would like to also encourage any male with the name Blackwell to take part in our study. DNA is much in the public today, but the type of test that is used in genealogy is completely different from what is used to convict people of crimes or to detect diseases and can not be used for such purposes. What the test is used for is to determine relationships, are you and another person closely related. This will provide you with insight into who to look for in your research.
