Hi All,

Thanks to Teri, we GAUNT Researchers have been given a copy of the Family Bible entry for the family of Daniel GAUNT and Mahala (aka Mahaley) BLACKWELL. Here's what we have:

Daniel GAUNT (Charles Daniel GAUNT) b abt 2/1799, Culpeper Co., VA m first Rachel LILLARD 1824, Culpeper Co., VA (no further info) m second Mahala BLACKWELL (surname from Family Bible) b 11/1810, Virginia d bet 6.1870 - 6.1880 (census dates). Their children:

1. Arrena (poss Irene) GAUNT b 3/1829, ?? m COOPERIDER (poss George) mentioned in her father's will 10/4/1855 (Adams Co., IN) as Arrena COOPERIDER

2. Francis M. GAUNT (male) b 12/16/1832, Ohio (Bible info) mentioned in father's will 10/4/1855 (Adams Co., IN)

3. Margaret Ann GAUNT b 7/20/1835, Ohio d 12/26/1917 Millersport, Fairfiled Co., Ohio m Jacob COOPERIDER. Mentioned in father's will as Margaret Ann COOPERIDER 10/4/1855 (Adams Co., IN)

4. Mary Ellen GAUNT b 6/13/1837, Ohio ?? (Bible info) mentioned in father's will 10/4/1855 as Mary Ellen GAUNT

5. Lafayette GAUNT 3/6/1842, Ohio (Bible Info) d 8/13/1910, St. Mary's, Adams Co., IN m Polly E. SWYGART, one son, Ola L. GAUNT b 12/1880, IN d 10/26/1920 St. Mary's, Adams Co., IN. Lafayette GAUNT mentioned in father's will 10/4/1855.

6. Merideph (aka Meredith) James GAUNT b 7/28/1842, Paulding Co., Ohio d ?? m Edith Amanda MILLER . Mentioned in father's will 10/4/1855.

7. John Henry GAUNT b 2/4/1848, Ohio d aft 10/4/1877 St. Mary's, Adams Co., IN appears to have not married. Mentioned in father's will 10/4/1855.

8. Emeliza (aka Emma Liza) GAUNT b 3/19/1845, Ohio d 10/12/1923, Colorado m Joseph BAXTER. Mentioned in her father's will 10/4/1855 as Emeliza GAUNT.

9. Onnarah GAUNT (aka Auroa) b 9/19/1852, IN (Bible info) m Newton BUTLER. Mentioned in her father's will 10/4/1855 as Onnarah GAUNT.

Does anyone have knowledge of this Mahala BLACKWELL?
