Thanks for responding! I don't know anything about her birth. I think they were probably married in Arkansas, in Franklin, Madison, or Washington county, but that is a pure guess. Their son George was born in Arkansas. I don't know about the other children, but would imagine that they were also born in Arkansas. There is an active group researching Titsworths, but they seem to be as in the dark as I am about Sahara's beginnings. I have looked through the 1830 censuses of Kentucky, and there were only three Blackwells in 1830 who had girl children of the correct age. That would narrow it down...if we knew for certain that the family didn't move in the 5 years between her birth and the census. I'm now trying to see if any of the three families turn up in Arkansas, and if so, were they anywhere near the Titsworths. Ben and Sahara were married when she was 16, so I doubt if she was off on her own, although that isn't impossible. Need to follow through on the 1850 census, to see if I can turn up anything more. And by the 1960 census, Sahara was dead, and Ben was off to Colorado, leaving the kids with his parents. All this is a long way to say sorry, but I don't know anything more. Thanks, Betsy Notify Administrator about this message?
