My Gran was called Yulia Bogush and I am trying to trace where the surname comes from. I know that she lived in Leningrad, Russia at some point (she was killed during the World War II) but was born somewhere in Poland. She spoke Yidish, as well as Russian and Polish, yet it is not clear whether or not she was Jewish, Catholic or Orthodox. Will appreciate any info however little.
