[NI111007] Samuel Jacob Booker was adoped by Benjamin Sears after his mother d & was taken to IL. enlisted Co. G, 70th IL Volunteer Infantry at Camp Point, IL. He served during the Civil War until Dec 1862, when he became ill & was placed the Field Hosp. at New Haven, KY. He was later moved to Louisville, KY & Mar 1863, he was brought to Quincy, IL. He was discharged from service on April 16, 1863, & went home to Paloma, IL, where he d on Jul 14, 1863 as a result of his war service.
