Agnes Leland Baldwin's "First Settlers of South Carolina" says Samuel Boswood arrived in Charles Towne, SC before June 1671 from Barbados on the "Carolina". He was a servant of John Foster and Thomas Gray. Ann Workeup came on his account. One slave, James, arrived on his account in 1684. Family in SC were his wife Mary, daughters Elizabeth and Margaret. He was my 8th Great grandfather. I do not know from whence he came prior to Barbados.
