Donna.. I have collected a lot of notes on Bowman families in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Ohio in my search for my own line.
My notes are arranged chronologically, by county. Here is the info I think is helpful for you... I included all of my info from Columbiana, Stark, Preble and Mahoning counties.. just in case some of the probably unrelated Bowman families turn out to be useful for you.
You might notice first in the Stark County notes that Henry Bowman of York Co., PA bought land in 1805. I think this is the elder Henry in your query.

COLUMBIANA Co., OH (formed in 1803)
1804 - Isaac BOWMAN from Beaver Co PA buys land on 23 November.
1806 - Isaac BOWMAN of Columbiana Co buys land in Stark Co on 3 January and 2 May.
1810 - Christian, Isaac, Jacob, John, Michael & Philip BOWMAN on tax list.
Michael BOWMAN (16 Dec 1785) fought in the War of 1812 under Capt. John Elson. Married (1) Martha Wiggins and (2) Rachel (Bair) Elson on 9 Sept 1832 in Stark Co., OH. They had David Elson (6 Sept 1833) md. Christiana Krieger on 24 Sept 1854 in Stark Co. (son of Henry of York PA?)
Philip BOWMAN (b. 25 October 1755) said in his Rev. War pension application that he was born in Little York PA and lived in Fredericktown, Frederick CO., MD when he enlisted. After the war he moved to Fayette Co., PA and in 1806, he settled in Columbiana Co., OH.
1810 - Mary BOWMAN of Columbiana Co buys land on 24 September.
1810 - Christian BOWMAN from York Co PA buys land on 26 November. (son of Henry of York PA?)
Christian BOWMAN (b. 23 March 1783 York PA - d. 2 November 1861 Columbiana OH), farmer, served in William Foulks’ Ohio Militia company during the War of 1812. He married Sarah Walter (b. 24 May 1797 PA - d. 31 March 1872 OH), daughter of Matthias & Anna Maria (Knauss) Walter (b. 1767 PA - d. after 1850 OH) on 21 June 1814 in Columbiana Co., OH. In 1850, they lived in Elk Run Twp with her father. They had sixteen children: Henry 1815, Mary 1817, (infant) 1819, Elizabeth 1820, Catherine 1821, Matthias 1823, Susanna 1824, Salome 1826, Martin H. 1828 OH, Christian 1830, Eliza 1832, Sarah Ann 1834, Emeline N. 1837, Esther B. 1839 and twins (infant) 1842 and Lydia 1842.
An older son lived next door in 1850 -- Henery BOWMAN (b. 1815 OH), farmer and Harriett (b1815 OH) with seven children: Hanna 1836, Sarah 1837, Elizabeth 1841, Matthias 1843, Henery 1845, Calvin 1847 and Harriett 1849.

1812 - David BOWMAN of Columbiana Co. buys land in Mahoning Co. on 11 February.
1813 - John J. BOWMAN of Columbiana Co. receives a land grant on 30 November.
John Jacob BOWMAN (b 23 Nov 1779 Fayette PA - d. 1864 Columbiana OH), son of Philip Caspar & Catherine (Fast) Bowman of PA, md. Charlotte Stough (1787-1847) on 31 Oct 1803 in OH? See Mahoning Co., OH for info on Philip. John J. & Charlotte had six children: Jonas (1804-1869 Wayne OH), Elizabeth (1808-1872), John (1810-1885), Philip (1817-1890), Samuel (1817-1897) and Joshua (1820-1893).
In 1850, Samuel and Joshua lived in Centre Twp. Samuel 1817, farmer with Lydia 1822 and Melancthon 1844 and Sophia 1848. Joshua 1820 and Lovina 1823 with his father, John J. 1779 PA.

1820 - (Madison Twp) census: John BOWMAN 052.
1820 - (Center Twp) census: John J. BOWMAN 083a (wife Charlotte Stough) and Michael BOWMAN 083.
1820 - (Beaver Twp) census: Nancy BOWMAN 025a.
MAHONING Co., OH
1808 - Philip BOWMAN of Fayette Co PA buys land on 29 February.
Philip Caspar Bowman was born on 25 October 1755 in Maryland, according to his Revolutionary War Pension record (however, some researchers say he was “born at sea”). Philip served as a private 4th class in Capt. Lowery’s Company out of Lancaster Co. PA during the Revolutionary War.
He married Catherine “Caty” Fast/Faust before 1779 in Fayette Co., PA. They had ten children: Elizabeth, John J., Christian, Joshua, Keziah, John Nicholas, Sarah, Rebecca, Catherine and Charlotte.
(I assumed they had a son named David (See Columbiana Co.) and moved to Mahoning Co. in 1808, but I must be mistaken).
Philip died on 17 January 1845 in Ellsworth Twp, Mahoning Co., OH.
1809 - (Green Twp) Josiah BOWMAN born 12 Feb to Christian & Elizabeth Kreager BOWMAN.
1812 - David BOWMAN of Columbiana Co. buys land in Mahoning Co. on 11 February.
PREBLE Co., OH
1820 - George BOWMAN reportedly on census.
George BOWMAN (b1797 PA) married Mary Ann Jones in 1819 in Switzerland Co IN and moved to Preble by 1820. He also was in the War of 1812 out of Indiana. George & Mary had at least five children: John (m. Sarah Springer), George, Milton (m. Eliza Crawford 1842 Preble OH), Charlotte (m. James Robinson), and Mary (m. Harry Zent). The family moved to Wayne IN where George died by 1850, then to Appanoose Co IA.
Could possibly be a son of Henry BOWMAN of York PA, b Dec 1797.
STARK Co., OH (formed in 1808 from Columbiana)
1805 - Henry BOWMAN of York Co PA buys land on 30 December.
1806 - Isaac BOWMAN of Columbiana Co buys land on 3 January and 2 May.
1810 - John BOWMAN of Stark Co buys land on 2 May and 12 October.
1810 - (Stark Twp) Jacob BOWMAN on tax list.
Jacob BOWMAN/Baumann (b. 1 February 1752 S. Germany - d. 16 March 1829 Stark OH) married Susanna Leffinger (b. c1756-1758 S. Germany - d. 1827 OH?) around 1778, maybe in Northumber-land Co., PA. A published history reportedly says Jacob came to America in 1772, settled near Gratz, PA and had a large family. Jacob and Susanna had at least four children: Jacob (1777-1859), Samuel (1779/1782-1856), John and _(female)_ Clark. All four moved to Stark Co., OH between 1810-1817.
Jacob BOWMAN (b. 22 February 1777 Northumberland PA - d. July 1859 Stark OH) married Hannah Klinger (b. 24 March 1784 PA? - d. 7 December 1871 OH) before 1810 in Northumberland Co., PA. They were living in Stark Co., OH by 1813 where Jacob belonged to the old Lutheran Church. Jacob purchased 160 acres in Pike Twp. and 240 acres in Crawford County. He and Hannah had twelve children (one died in infancy): John, Henry, Sarah (md. ____ Bonebrake), Catharine (md. William Miller & moved to Huntington, IN), Lydia (md. David Flora & moved to Huntington, IN), Hannah (md. George Flora), Jacob, Polly (md. Samuel Miller) and Samuel 1827.
Samuel BOWMAN (b. 11 Feb 1779/1782 Northumberland PA - d. 10 April 1856 Stark OH) married c1813 in PA to Mary/Maria Magdalena Klinger (b. 16 Jan 1790 PA?) and had twelve children (only five names are known): Joseph (b. 30 Jan 1814 Northumberland PA - d. 2 April 1880 DeKalb IN), Samuel (1817-1902 see below), Isaac (lived on the original homestead after 1902), Benjamin (lived in Iowa) and Jonathan (b. 13 Dec 1821 PA? - d. after 1902) md. Eliza Kelly in 1850.
1812 - Isaac BOWMAN of Jefferson Co OH buys land on 3 March.
Isaac (b 22 Dec 1774 Westmoreland Co. England) married Ann Hobson in Jefferson Co., OH on 26 Nov 1807. He was a cabinetmaker from England, son of Richard & Mary, and educated at Earlham College. Isaac & Ann moved to Kendall, Jackson Twp, Stark Co. in 1812 and raised six children: Mary (1809-1810), Joseph H. (1810-1877), Ann (1812), Thomas (1813-1887), Richard (1815-1856), William (1817) and James M. (1818-1880). Ann died in 1823 and Isaac married (2) Elizabeth Gatewood. He died 20 Apr 1858.
1812 - John BOWMAN buys land on 2 July and 21 July.
1816 - Jacob, John, John, John & Henry BOWMAN on tax list.
1817 - Samuel BOWMAN (1779/1782) of Stark Co buys land on 30 August.
1817 - Isaac BOWMAN buys land on 10 September. Reportedly a Quaker.
1817 - Jacob BOWMAN (German) buys land on 5 December (maybe son of Jacob & Susanna).
1818 - John BOWMAN buys 160 acres of land in Pike Township on 7 April (son of Jacob & Susanna). He reportedly moved back to Pennsylvania this same year.
1820 - (Brown Twp) Census: Geo. and Isiah 170A... now Carroll Co.
1820 - (Green Twp) Census: Daniel Baughman 176... now Summit Co.
1820 - (Nemishillen Twp) Census: Henry, Henry Jr and Jacob 183A
