Thanks Phil, nice to know someone is out there on this subject. Had a negative on paying my 15 pound to Hayes. They said records of WW1 were destroyed in firebombing raids of 1940. This was about my grandfathers service in the "Buffs" and his prisoner of war status for three and half years. Since he was all of 43 years in 1914, he must have been in the reserve. Yes, certainly worth a try re Kew. Thanks for your info.
