I just came across your posting from the year 2000 so perhaps you already found your answers. If not:
Nelson Bracy born 1853 SC was living in Manchester, Sumter SC during 1880 census. With him was wife Rebecca (also born SC) and their children: Solomon, Nelson (4mos old), and Julia A.

Interestingly I found a death certificate for a Willie Bracey who died in my own hometown of Austintown OHIO! The death cert lists his parents as Ishom and Rebecca (Bambow) Bracey of SC. Austintown Ohio is a suburb of Youngstown Ohio and was the location of the areas only TB hospital. That is where Willie died. He actually lived about 20 miles away in another suburb called Campbell, OH.
I have a hunch that Willie's father Ishom may have been the son of the one you asked about--only because Willie was born in SC in Sept 1892. But that's just a guess.
Hope this helps?!
