Information for this article came from the "Kendall Keystone News"1922 Kendall,--Monroe County,Wisconsin Name--D.L. BRAINARD Place of Birth--Toronto,Canada Date of Birth---November 17, 1843 Date of Death--April 27,1922 Immigration: With parents moved to Montpelier,Vermont year 1846 and 3 years later they came West to Wisconsin to Fond Du Lac County to homestead in a place which is now the Town of Ripon. In 1852 moved to the Town of Glendale, Monroe County Wisconsin to a farm now owned by THOMAS MURRAY Marriage--January 12, 1857 Wife --MARTHA L.MCQUEEN Note-Martha preceded him in death by 1 year and 23 days Residence in 1922--Living with MRS. W.C. KELLAR a daughter in Mason City,Iowa. Civil War Service---He enlisted at Sparta the 14th day of August 1862 serving throughout the Civil War. He enlisted in Company D but was tranferred to company (unreadable in this article) Wisconsin Volunters and mustered out at the end of hostilities. Survivors--Three children--MRS. W.C. KELLAR of Mason City,Iowa, MRS.OLE SHERMAN of Aspen,Colorado, and J.L. BRAINARD of Kansas City,Missouri. Funeral---Buriel at Glendale Cemetery with officant Rev.C.E. DUNLEVY of the Methodist Church.
