My grandfather was a Braynard. He had a twin brother and 2 sisters. One named Amy . I am not sure if it was Alice Amelia or Amelia Alice. She composed music and was married to Walter Nolan also a composer. They lived in NYC. She composed the music to Heart and Soul, sent it to a publiher and it was stolen and she never got credit for the song.
The twin to my grandfather was a doctor in Glen Cove,NY, He had a son named Frank Osborn, who started the maritime museum in NYC. Has publised several books on ships, and was the man who got the tall ships in 1976 in NYC.He had a brother named Edwin jr.He owned a marina on the southern east coast.
The other sister was Edna and she married a man named Wendell Moore. My grandfather was named Francis Randall Braynard. My grandfather was born in 1886?? NYC and the surround is where the family seemd to stay. The great great grandfather's name was Horatio Braynard. His wife was Isabel Crasto.
My grandfather was a salesman of cuban cigars and his territory was the midwest and the east so he did live in Illinois back about 1917 until the depression when he and my grandmother moved back to NYC. to help the family.
I would be interested in any info you might have on Braynard spellings.
