Hello,
I think we have something in common. I am the Grand Daughter of George F Brainard. I knew he had siblings named John, Wilber, Grace and there may have been more. The children were dropped off at Leaks and Watts Orphanage located in Yonkers. I have contacted them to get any information I can about my grandparents.
George met and married Grace Reberta McGlaughlin( who was alos in the orphanage) He later enrolled in the service and served in Germany WWII and was injured. They had eight children Pauline, Margaret, Elizabeth, Gladys, George Jr, Edward, Frederick,and Robert.
I need to clarify the following information but it was told to me I was named after one of his family members... Ellen Louise... Not sure who that was yet. Any other information you may have would be appreciated... sketchdiamond@yahoo.com
