Braymer Family Genealogy Forum

I, too, am a descendant of David Braymer. My father was James E. Braymer. His father was Edward Braymer. His father was Jake Braymer.
Most of the Braymers still live in Pennsylvania. My grandparents grew up in Oklahoma, but had close ties to the Pennsylvania Braymers. My father and I were born in Texas.
Much of what you said about David Braymer is consistent with what our Pennsylvania relatives told us. We were also told there was a rift in the family between David and his brother (I don't know his name). Supposedly, the brother kept the German spelling of his surname, while David adopted the English spelling.
The folklore in our family was that if your name is Braymer, you must be related to us because the name is so unusual.
