Hi David

Martin Joseph BRERETON is a relative of mine and I'm in contact with his descendants in England. Your MJB is a descendant of my GG G/F Martin Brierton (spelling?) and his wife Catherine SHERIDAN, daughter of Cornelius Sheridan, an Irish farmer.

Martin and Catherine had two sons - Nicholas BRIARTON born Liverpool 1831 and Cornelius BRYARTON born Liverpool 1833. Nicholas' family spelt the name BRIERTON.

Cornelius spelt it BRIERTON at his marriage to Ann LARKIN in Liverpool in Feb 1857 but it changed to BRERETON on the birth certificate of his first son M J.

Nicholas and Cornelius both named their eldest sons Martin Joseph. Nicholas' son became Martin J BRIERTON and Cornelius' son became Martin J BRERETON.

It was M J BRERETON who married Eliza Frances SULLIVAN in Liverpool in 1882.

How's that for starters?

Please contact me as I have all the family info.
