My ancestor, Robert Pearson Brereton,(1818-1894)Chief Engineer with Brunel, spent many years tracing the origins of the Brereton family. I have inherited his research papers together much correspondence from the mid-late 19th century regarding the Brereton family. Our own Brereton branch goes back to Sir Rafe Brereton 1100 approx. There are many fascinating episodes in the Brereton history. If interested make contact.
