Hi Vanessa,

Brewitt is not one of my prime lines of research so I have not sorted all my info on the name. I'll need a little time to wade through it. I'll be back shortly. I have searched the Parish Registers in Haxey and records lots of info which I am happy to pass to you.

My interest in this region is the Rowe family who were in the region around Haxey for many years from around 1800. Prior to that they were nearby at Austerfield in Yorkshire. I'm actually researching Rowe in London, and also Essex, Kent, Suffolk and Devon (and other places) all because I cannot determine the ancestry of Rowe ancestor but in the 1901 census in London a 14 year old "cousin" was living with them. So now I am researching many lines of Rowes in parallel who give every indication that they are related. But as yet I can't see the connection! It appears the family comes originally from Okehampton in Devon.

Back soon.

Allan in sunny Canberra
