Can you refer me to an authentic document showing Hester Pitt Bridger's middle name as Stevens? This interests me greatly as there has been controversy over the wife of Col. Robert Pitt (Hester's father) for several years, some saying she was a Stevens and others saying that she was Martha Lear. So much of this is traditional information handed down through the various branches of the Pitt family and not thoroughly documented. Thanks.
