I have been gathering information on the family of Humphrey Brooke (d. 1738) and Elizabeth Braxton of King William Co., VA. I am confused with the children. I have seen Paulin Brooke listed as part of the family. But he owned land in 1728. One of the younger sons (Paulin's brother), Humphrey, is listed in a deposition as being born in 1731. It seems to me that the children are a generation apart. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this and come up with an explanation.
