Has anyone done serious research on this Leonard Brooke who died in 1718 in St. Mary's Co., Md leaving three daughters (Eleanor, Jane & Anne) and one son, Charles? I have the information from the old published genealogies on this family, but some of dates don't quite work and documentation is thin. Eleanor is said to have married Clement Gardiner and had children born from circa 1716 through 1722. Jane is said to have married John Smith (son of John and Dorothy Brooke Smith) and had two sons born in 1732 and 1735). Anne is said to have married William Neale of Port Tobacco in Charles Co., and to have had children born from 1736 to 1756). Leonard's son Charles is said to have died childless before 1 July 1761 and that his land was divided among his sisters, but I have searched a long time for evidence of that statement. Presumably it exists in some sort of document, but it does not seem to be a Maryland estate settlement? If this record could be found it might prove his siblings names. Any help will be welcomed.
Thanks,
