Humphrey Booth Brooke, Sr (b. about 1759 in Essex Co., VA, d 1809 in Orange, VA) was married to a Sally ____ before 1791, according to a land purchase in 1791 that recorded them as married. I am looking for her last name, and/or whether she was the mother of his children born after that date, because there is also evidence that he married the daughter of Abner Cox, Sr. and Mary Muscoe Livingston. The only name for this daughter I could find is Caroline Cox. I am trying to find out if Humphrey widowed Sally and married a Ms. Cox, and if so, which wife was the mother of Humphrey Booth Brooke, Jr., born c. 1799/1800 and died c. 1879. I'm also trying to find out if Sally and Ms. Cox may be the same person, as the name of Caroline for Ms. Cox is not totally reliable. Any help appreciated.
