Seth Brookshire married Martha Robinson 12 March 1874 in Coryell Co., Texas.
MATTIE ROBERTSON (Martha) "My father's name was SETH WADE BROOKSHIRES. He took me from my mother when I was a few months old and we have never heard of or from her since. She wrote to my father's half brother at Ft. Smith, Ark, (this would be Mannering son of Farley 1) thirty or forty years ago. She was then in Springfield or Joplin, MO. My grandfathers name was WALTON ROBERTSON. After he died Grandmother married a man named RICHARDSON, and they were living on Owl Creek (Coryell Co. ) Texas at the time my father took me away. None save those who have passed through a similar experience can realize how I long to find some trace of my mother. How much I wanted her.....Gatesville, Texas." One of Seth's granddaughters said that Seth took Mary Louise, his daughter, to live with some people in Waco, TX. He and his daughter went on horseback and crossed the Brazos River when it was at flood stage and rising......This was written sometime close to 1900.
