I do not have any documentation, but suspect that John Davis Brumfield was the son of Davis Brumfield, born 1795 in SC, died 23 April 1863 in Pike Co., MS.

Davis Brumfield was the son of John B. Brumfield (1768-1835) and Margaret Kelly, daughter of William S. Kelly.

John B. Brumfield had 13 children (12 sons and one daughter). Five of his sons (Willis, Elijah, Nathaniel, Isaac and John W.) died in Washington Parish, LA. Two (Davis and Isaac) died in Pike Co., MS. Another (Jessie) died in Amite Co., MS.

I have no additional information and have not researched this family. Have the above as a result of researching Kelly.
