Trying to establish the parentage of James
Brumfield b. c. 1797 and married in 1818
Greenup Co.,Ky. to Elizabeth Rice. Their
daughter Mahala married Samuel Haney in
Lawrence Co.,Ky. in 1838. They had two
children Mary Ann Haney born in 1840 and
James W.(believe William) born 1842 in
Lawrence Co.,Ky. Mary Ann Haney was my gt.
gt. grandmother. I know that Samuel and
Mahala's son James would have been named
after her father. I am sure that his
middle name was William who may have been
the father of Samuel Haney. Mary Ann married
Joseph Justus Groff and named their son
James William Groff. This is why I think
that James W. Haney was James William Haney.
Would appreciate any help.
