Phil,
You have posted a tremendous amount of information here along with some valid points. I have a question though, concerning the four James theory. We know that the first of the 4 James' was a transportee to Virginia in 1672/73 by Robert Talifero along with his future wife Peshee Sutton also on the same list was a Thomas Brumfield/Bromfield. Can you give a good explanation as to why the first James would have been transported to VA from England if he had "connections" in England?
I don't think any of us who descend from the first James has been able to get him any further back than when he came to Virginia. He very well may be connected to some of the Brumfield's that you mention but I haven't seen anything that makes that connection yet. I would love to be able to go further back with his line, but don't have the information to work with nor the resources available to do so.
