My name is Glenn Alton Brumfield, gggg grandson of Charles Brumfield and Lucy ?. I have a copy of the will of Charles Brumfield from the York County Historical Society. The will was written in about 1808 and was executed in 1826 when he died. Your ancestor, Charity, is mentioned in the will. Thomas Neely, Jr., your ancestor,was one of the executors of the will.
I live in Sparanburg, SC, therefore, have fairly ready access to York District/County, SC.
I am interested in learning more about the Neely Family. I would like to know the family that may still be in York County, SC, as I am trying to find the property that Charles Brumfield owned there. My impression is that he sold some land before he died, while he left the land he was living on when he died to his second wife, Elizabeth Patton. Charles and Elizabeth had no children. The mother of the children Charles had was Lucy?. She obviously died prior to 1808 when his will was written. To my knowledge, no one knows her last name, nor the date of her birth/death, nor where she is buried.
Any information you can provide would be much appreciated!!
