I am trying to research my ancestor John Stewart born about 1803 in Pennsylvania. He is supposedly the son of John Stewart born about 1776 and Margaret Brumfield. I have extensive records of the younger John and family but nothing on Margaret or John Sr. Can any Brumfield researchers help clear this up. Did a Margaret or Mary Brumfield marry a John Stewart of this age group, did they live in Pennsylvania, what happened to the elder John, to Margaret. Written and oral family history says my John Jr. left Pennsylvania and ended up in Switzerland County, Indiana because he was being raised by an uncle that he did not get along with. I know he married Maryette Beebe/Munn in 1830 in Switzerland County. I have listings of their children from a family bible and have tracked most of them, I have visited the place where they settled but John Sr. & Margaret/Mary are my brick wall.
