There's a very worn tombstone amongst other Brushes in the Commack Methodist Cemetery that appears to read "Ann Eliza, wife of Samuel Brush, died March 9, 1856." Anything else on the stone is unreadable and it is slowly sinking into the ground.
Information from the files of Stuart Brush, author of "The Descendants of Thomas and Richard Brush of Huntington, LI," indicates that Ann Eliza was 29 when died, thus born in 1827. He suggests that she may have been the wife of Samuel, son of Samuel Brush and Elizabeth Vail, but that is not a certainty. There may have been children, but their names are not known.
Is there anyone among you readers of this forum who might be descended from Samuel and Ann Eliza and be able to shed more light on this family?
The younger Samuel would have been the brother of my ggg-grandfather, Moses Brush.
