BRUSH in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada

In various postings on this forum, I see mention of BRUSH persons who lived in various New England locations, and also a few who were in Halifax or northern Nova Scotia locations, but have seen nothing about the BRUSH surnames who settled in and around Yarmouth, NS, in the southern-most part of Nova Scotia right across the Gulf of Maine from New England.

I notice in the 2012 Yarmouth NS telephone directory listings that there are 2 BRUSH surnames listed, one in a small community just north of town. I remember in previous decades there was a Hubert Brush in the South End of Yarmouth, after whom the Hubert Brush Center was named (it has since been demolished).

Does anyone posting on this forum know when and how the BRUSH surname came to be in Yarmouth, NS?
