I have a friend named Becky Bulmer. Her family is from West Virginia. She wanted me to check out this gen forum and gave me some information that could be helpful. Her father was John Franklin Bulmer. His parents were Harry and Hyland Bulmer. I'm not sure of Hyland's maiden name. Their other children were: Pete, Tim, Phyllis, Gwen, Jean, and Nola. Becky tells me that there is a folktale in her family about where they originated in England. She says the name Bulmer came from the place where they were from-"Bull's Mere". They were known there for making a famous apple cider with "a kick". We don't know how much of this story is accurate, but it is well known in her family. Hope this helps-you can e-mail me with any questions. She hasn't got her computer yet.
