OK kids lets start from this end.

I've just started looking into my family and have already found that the last 5 generations of our family all had the eldest son named JOHN.

I will have a dig back through the living relatives (yes they can still remember quiet a way back)and see if they know of a Mary or a John who was lost at sea.

You may already have noticed from my accent that I am in UK. I live in Durham only 3 miles from the Bulmers Baronial seat at Brancpeth
