John Jefferson Burgett was my gg grandfather. As you mentioned in your posting I have his birth as 1817 or 1821 in Tennessee. My research is sketchy on this line, but I have his father listed as T. G. Burgett instead of Henry.
In the 1880 census for Blount Co., AL, JJ Burgett is shown with father born in Germany and Mother in TN.
What source do you have for the connection to Henry?
I did find an 1820 census of Franklin Co., TN which had a Henry Burgett...and I did find an 1830 census with Elizabeth Burgett in the same place...so you may well be right.
I am making a trip to Blount and Marshall counties in Alabama in May and hope to find more information then.
