I have done a lot of research into William J Harris, Jr as he is my ancestor. In regard to his wives, there is some confusion. I have grown comfortable with the following two wives and their offspring. I know that William and Henrietta Ann are my ancestors, but have not delved much, yet, into the Burnett line. I suspect the two Burnett women were sisters or first cousins which makes the lineage from there a moot point. However, my information is ever changing as I find more. Hope this is helpful to you.

Most of my info comes from my grandmother's Harris/Manley family bible, family written and oral info, Family, RootsWeb and books.

I have put 1, 2, 3 after some of the children. William had 20 or 21 children, some of whom are named the same by several wives

I have also put widespread dates e.g. d 1749-1792 when I have many dates as possibilities withing that range and am not yet comfortable with a set date.

The two marriages I am pretty sure about are:

1-William J Harris, Jr (b1700-1710)(d1749-1792) Louisa Co.
m Elizabeth Burnett(b1704) m between 1720 and 1727
2 Benjamin 1720
Mary 1 1721
John 1 1722
Temperence (Baker) 1723
William 1 1724
Ann 1 1725
John 2
Overton 1 1726
Jemima (Overton) 1727
Mary 2 1727
Fred 1 1728
Benjamin 2 1730
Keziah (Nelson) 1731
Overton 2 1732
Ann 2 1740

m Henrietta ANN Burnett(b 1705-1710) in 1740 Louisa, Co
2 Frederick 2 1742
John 3 1742
Sofrona Overton 1743
William 2 1744
Robert 1745 married Mezapina Walton

There is conjecture on Rootsweb(AFN:9LPZ-ZP) that the last six children listed under Elizabeth Burnett may have been the children of a woman named "Burrett" who mat have been married to Wm between 1727-1740. In my opinion "Burrett" is too close to "Burnett" and I suspect it is just a mispelling.

Also, one source (Rootsweb Home Page: Ancestors and Descendants of Jesse Macon Lawrence Jr) gives a marriage "after 1750" to a Lucy Camp (b abt 1720). I haven't pursued this, but suspect it is more likely Lucy married one of William's sons named William b 1724 and 1744.
