Hi Ron,
This is so neat, you & my mom were cousins,having the same grandmother. This is great. Yes, now that you reminded me ,Inez was her grandaughter (your cousin).(sometimes this age thing is a pain with the memory.:)) Inez would make a buck this day with the herbel medicines & things.:) Thanks.
It makes sense to me now,because I rem. Gr-grandmother was in Windsor when we visited her. I must have been 8 & 9yrs old,I saw her twice. Travel wasn't easy then,but she was now closer so mom could visit a little,(we lived in Little Burnt Bay)then.
With my granfather (Hezekiah Troake) We can't find his birth anywhere or his marriage. He was passed around as a baby & young boy & raised by several family's.The last was a Ledrew family & it was so bad there when he was 11 or 12 he left & worked on a schooner going back & forth to Labardor till he married when he was 31yrs old. He was a very gentle quiet man we loved him a lot. (he lived with us for a couple years when he was in his 80's.) He was also 100yrs old when he died. All that to say this "IT would be great to know his father's name" we think it was Jesse ???????.
Little correction: William Hillier was my father-in-law & Jack was the uncle. Pretty neat your mom can rem him.:)
No, I'm not living on the Island now, we are in Ontario. I still have a lot of family down home though. We are leaving this weekend for home for the summer.
Will be making a trip to St. John's to see my brother.Who knows may get to meet you also,that would be great.
Will be making a trip to Windsor cemetery to visit grandmother Fox. (Hope she appreicates it.LOL)
