If you haven't already I suggest you try to obtain his death certificate from PA Div. of Vital Records (use Google or some other search engine to get to the website). Since you are a direct descendant and know at least the year and county of death you should be able to get it. It will cost you $9 and take at least a month.
The other thing you could do is to obtain his obituary. Contact the York County Historical Society for that. They might have an index of obituaries. Otherwise without the exact date having someone find the obit for you could get expensive.
