Hello, I am seeking any information on George Butkus, b. ca 1877 in Kilonia, Lithuania (?)...spoke Polish and was married to Catherine (White) Butkus. They are said to have immigrated to Shenandoah, PA and George was a coal miner there. They had a daughter Ella, born 24 Apr 1893 in Shenandoah, PA but I've found no record of any of them there at any time. I believe Catherine (White)Butkus died in Shenandoah, PA between 1893 and 1907 but I find no record of her death. I believe George remarried and moved to Chicago, Ill. In 1910, his daughter Ella ran away from home and is found to be listed in a STAMPF family bible in Brooklyn, NY in 1910 as having had or lost a baby that year. I've found a death certificate for "a" George BUTKUS in Chicago, Ill. in 1923 and am feeling pretty certain this is "my" George BUTKUS. Does anyone out there have information that would relate to this?
